Green Building is a hot term in construction today, but how much of green building is truly green and not just ‘green washing’. SIPS are a truly green building product. They will help the environment in many ways when used as a construction material.

What makes SIPS Green?

1. SIPS are the core of green building. They will allow you to create a super-tight shell to start your building. SIPS have been shown in testing to be 15X tighter than standard stick & batt construction. Talk about reducing your carbon footprint!
2. SIP Homes consistently reduce energy usage to 50% of the current MEC. Because of air tightness and High R-Values, SIPS will make your building more energy efficient.
3. SIPS are made with fast re-growth trees (OSB). Part of green is using highly renewable sources. OSB is made from trees that are replanted and harvested in a controlled forest.
4. Because SIPS can be pre-fabricated in our factory, they will reduce the amount of waste on your jobsite. We can find mistakes in plans prior to the panels even being produced, which also helps to reduce waste on jobsites, thus keeping our landfills from filling up.
5. The EPS used in our SIPS is recyclable. We even make SIPS with recycled content upon request. Anytime you use recycled materials, you’re helping the environment and considered green.
